Over the February 22-24 weekend, the FC Wisconsin Eclipse U15-U18 teams finished the ECNL regular season at the ECNL National Showcase Event in Frisco, TX, at FC Dallas Park.  The ECNL National Showcase Events are not only the biggest college recruiting events of the year, they also feature some of the best teams in the country vying for play-off positions for the ECNL National Championships.

The U16 team finished the event with a 1-1-1 record, and a strong 3-0 win over Virginia Rush.  The game was played in difficult wind conditions, which were emphasized by the third goal - a 100 yard punt by goalkeeper Jordyn Bloomer that took off in the wind and bounced nearly 30 feet high.  Steph Fabry and Allison Jacobson also scored in the win.  The U16s are strongly positioned to qualify for the ECNL North American League Play-Offs, where they will likely join 32 other teams in June in Denver, CO to play for positions in the ECNL National Finals.

The U15s continued to show they are competitive with some of the best teams in the country, with three very close losses.  The team will need to wait through the spring season to see whether they did enough throughout the year to lock-up a spot in the North American Play-Offs, as many ECNL Conferences still have games left to play.  Either way, the growth of the team throughout the year has the players well positioned for the future.

The event continued to be a mecca for college coaches, as almost every school in the country was in attendance.  It was not uncommon for 30-40 different schools to watch games at the biggest recruiting age groups.

The U14 FC Wisconsin Eclipse Team will continue their ECNL season this spring, where they will be trying to finish in the top 2 teams in the very difficult Midwest Conference to earn a berth in the ECNL National Finals.  The team has had multiple players gain experience playing "up" throughout the fall season, gaining valuable experience against older players.

The U15, U16 and U17 teams will next play ECNL games at the ECNL National Play-Offs in Colorado June 21-23, 2013.
