The FC Wisconsin Youth Academy program is for players at the U8, U9, and U10 age groups who love soccer, want to learn more about soccer, or who love to play soccer with their friends. In 2016, the players in the Youth Academy are having a fantastic year!
The most important part of youth soccer in the Youth Academy age groups is that players love coming to training, and learn to love the game. In line with this philosophy, FC Wisconsin Youth Academy sessions are designed to teach players agility, balance and coordination through fun activities, basic soccer skills and concepts through fun games, and to create friendships in the sport through teamwork and communication.
The speed at which players in these age groups can learn when taught with the right methodology is truly remarkable. Watch a group of FC Wisconsin U8s showing basic ideas in creating space, attempts to pass and dribble with the proper surfaces, and new awareness of what is around them in this video!
The FC Wisconsin training methodology is designed to insure that all players have the opportunity to maximize their long-term athletic potential by being taught the building blocks of the game - in ideas, skils, and decisions - at the appropriate age groups. The best coaches in the club are working with these age groups because they are the age groups where players learn the fastest, and they are years of learning that can not be replaced. Creating a fun environment, with age appropriate information and concepts, is critical to establishing the foundation for the future.
Players that learn to love the game are players that learn to be great in the game.
