From March 31 until April 6, former US Women’s National Team Captain and current FC Wisconsin Eclipse coach Kate Markgraf will be in Chile as a Sports Envoy for the US Department of State.  The Sports Envoy program sends high profile US coaches and athletes to countries throughout the world to hold sports clinics and other workshops.   

From March 31 until April 6, former US Women’s National Team Captain and current FC Wisconsin Eclipse coach Kate Markgraf will be in Chile as a Sports Envoy for the US Department of State.  The Sports Envoy program sends high profile US coaches and athletes to countries throughout the world to hold sports clinics and other workshops.  

These workshops and clinics are established to encourage community involvement, engage youth in dialogue on leadership, and to promote diversity.  In addition, the Sports Envoys serve as role models and mentors teaching life skills, including the importance of responsibility, teamwork, and respect.  For more information on the Sports Envoy program, please click here. 

Kate will spend time in Santiago and Vina Del Mar, and will conduct programs with organizations like:

• Universidad Católica de Valparaíso - one of the top universities in Chile;
• The Valparaiso Bi-National Center - a collection of non-profit language centers that focus on the research, development and outreach of language, culture and the arts, especially in relation to mutual understanding among Chilean and Americans; and
• Sports NGO Ganamos Todos - a nonprofit organization whose mission is to get the community involved in sharing the principles and values of physical activity and sports to prevent child obesity, promote healthy habits, and combat social decay.
