FC Wisconsin Announces Club Structure for 21-22 Season

FC Wisconsin is excited to announce its coaching structure for the 2021-2022 season, in conjunction with multiple new hires to the club.  The club’s new staff, in conjunction with some adjustment in roles of existing staff, will allow FC WI to continue to provide an unmatched development experience for its growing player pool.

The club will continue to implement a club-based coaching philosophy, with all coaches working across multiple different programs to insure consistency and alignment in philosophy and development pathways for players.  While each director manages the structure and operations of a program, all directors and staff work in collaboration with each other across all programs.

From the oldest teams to the youngest, the club coaching staff and roles are listed below.

  • Andy Lee will be the club’s ECNL Director, responsible for all programming for teams in the ECNL Club Competition and coordinating programming with the ECNL Regional League teams.
  • Joana Bromley will add the title of ECNL Regional League Director to her responsibilities as she leads this exciting new program in its first season.
  • Monica Gonyo will focus her role as the Goalkeeping Director, working with a growing cadre of goalkeepers across all ages.
  • New hire Paul Sikinger will be the Pre-ECNL Director, managing development in the critical ages of U11 and U12 as players move from 7v7 competition and prepare for 11v11 competition.
  • Mike Malen will continue his role working with the U12 and U13 age groups.
  • Drew Watson will continue supporting players from Madison with periodic Madison-based training.
  • Billy Solberg will continue to provide coaching support at the U15 and older age groups.
  • New hires Mikaela Hoard and Kenzie Challoner will join the Youth Academy as staff coaches.

Overall club methodology and philosophy continues to be led by Director of Methodology Christian Lavers, and Hayley Lavers continues as the club’s Executive Director.

“I am incredibly proud of the staff of coaches in this club,” said Executive Director Hayley Lavers.  “Most importantly, they are tremendous people that care greatly about players and their development.  Beyond that, they are passionate experts in teaching the game, which comes through in every session and game they coach.  Every year the club and its players take big steps forward, and I am excited to see the growth continue this fall.”

Beyond the above technical expertise, all players from U15 – U18/19 will continue to have the benefit of the club’s unique Psychological Skills Training Program, designed to help them become stronger and better mentally in areas such as leadership, goal-setting, grit, and more.

Finally, new in the 2021-2022 season, the club’s partnership with Athlete Performance will provide a sports performance training program option to build strength, power, and explosiveness for interested athletes from U13 – U18/19.

No club in Wisconsin can match the depth, quality, and breadth of development experiences provided at FC Wisconsin!
