FC Wisconsin Alums Make Early Mark in 2018 College Seasons

The 2018 women's college soccer season will find more than 40 FC Wisconsin alums competing at schools across the country, at every level.  Nearly a dozen FC Wisconsin alums will be competing in Power 5 Conferences - at Wisconsin, Washington State, Iowa State, Mississippi State, Baylor, and Louisville.  More than 10 players will be playing Division 1 soccer in-state, with 6 alums at Wisconsin, 3 at Marquette, 2 at UWM, and 2 at UW-Green Bay.  Catch up on all the action of our great alums below!

  •    After a 2-0 win over Marquette, the Badgers dropped a tough 0-3 decision to #6 Florida State before upending Kentucky 3-1.  Payton Wesley and Jordyn Bloomer have started all 3 games, and Steph Fabry and Dani Rhodes have made appearances as substitutes.  Audrey Poorman has not made an appearance yet.  Special congratulations to Chloe Knudtson and Wesley for being elected team captains for the season!

  •    The Golden Eagles dropped their opener to Wisconsin and then lost a close game 2-3 to Michigan.  Allison Jacobson and Bri Jaeger started both games, with Mary Kate Simon coming in off the bench.

  •    UWM opened their season by contining an unbeaten streak that extends more than 12 months, with wins over Northern Iowa, Northern Illinois, and Eastern Illinois.  Taylor Tabbert and Erin Corrigan have started in the backline in all matches.

  •    ISU started the season with a 2-2 draw against CSUN, helped by an assist by Kate Del Fava.  They then beat Eastern Michigan 1-0 before a tough loss to Oklahoma, but then rebounded in a 1-1 tie with Tulsa.  Del Fava has started every match.

  •    Mississippi State is 4-0 and Hailey Farrington-Bentil has seen action in all 4 games up front, starting one of them.

  •    Green Bay dropped their first 3 games before claiming a 3-2 win over Eastern Illinois.  Mara Pfeilstifter has seen action in 3 games, and Kara Baugrud is waiting to make a big impact!

  •    Louisville is off to a torrid 4-0 start, with convincing wins over Wright State, Xavier, Dayton, and Michigan.  Taylor Kerwin has started every match and scored once.

  •    Cornell started the season with a 2-1 over St. Bonaventure, with Maddie Hoitink starting in defense.

  •    Davidson is 2-2, with wins over USC-Upstate and Gardner Webb.  Ali Menard has seen action in all four games.

  •    DePaul is 2-1, with big wins over Illinois and UMass-Lowell, and a tight loss against SMU.  Mikaela Hoard has seen action in two games, and Kristina Barczak is ready to make an impact!

  •    UNH is 2-2, with wins over Rhode Island and Holy Cross, and losses to #14 Princeton and to UMass.  Gaby Dorsey has started all games in midfield.

  •    Denver and Mary DeWalt is 1-2-1 on the season, with a win over Florida International, tight losses to Florida Atlantic and Colorado College, and a tie against Colorado State.

  •    WSU is undefeated with wins over Seattle, Grand Canyon, and Minnesota.  Elyse Bennett has started all three games and scored once.
