Alumni Awards Pour In at Unprecedented Levels

Players Make Marks as All-Time Greats!

FC Wisconsin Eclipse alums are earning collegiate accolades at unprecendented levels this year.  Multiple players at multiple schools have been recognized as among the best ever in their conference, proving again that true development is long-term.

Cara Walls earned First Team All-Big 10 honors this season, becoming just the 16th Badger ever to do so, as well as earning All-Big 10 Tournament honors.  Teammate and fellow alum McKenna Meuer scored the game-winning goal in the Big Ten Tournament semi-final, and continued her streak of starting every game all year.  Both, along with alum Holly Heckendorf, are now Big Ten Champions - as Wisconsin outlasted Iowa in the championship match on Sunday and is seeded 4th in the NCAA Tournament.

Mary Luba earned First Team All-Big East honors this season, just the 15th Golden Eagle ever to do so.  Jacie Jermier earned Second Team All-Big East Honors.  Both Luba and Jermier were also named to the All-Big East Tournament Team.  Alum Mady Vicker was a regular starter for Marquette this year, helping lead them to the Big East semi-finals before a shoot-out loss ended their season.  Freshman alum Caroline Fink earned her first minutes this season as well.

At Loyola, Monica Gonyo and Valerie Gonyo both earned Second Team All-Missouri Valley Conference to cap careers that featured awards almost every season.  At UW-Milwaukee, freshman alum Cassidy Blanchard was named to the Horizon League All-Newcomer Team.

The 2014 college season featured FC Wisconsin Eclipse alums setting all-time marks for storied college soccer teams, and putting themselves as some of the best ever to wear red and white, or blue and gold.  Will you be next?
