The 2016-17 season already shows huge excitement, progress, and lots of new faces at FC Wisconsin - as new players, new staff, and new programs mark the exciting future for Wisconsin's ASPIRING players, and the beginning of Program 5!
In July Monica Gonyo was announced as the new Goalkeeping Coach for the club. In only the first few weeks of training, her presence and impact have been significant with all age groups, and the future is brighter than ever for a club with goalkeeper's already in the Big 10, Big 12, and multiple other college conferences.
The FC Wisconsin ECNL teams had their first training session on August 8, and enter the 2016-2017 season with their deepest rosters yet, a strongly established culture, and many reasons for excitement. The combination of so many "veteran" players returning after another year of development in the club, and motivated new players from all over the state adding new energy at each group, is already creating a new competitive level in training every day.
For the first time, the Intermediate Program for U11-U13 will have teams and players in every age group in both Madison and Milwaukee, providing the opportunity for the biggest and best Intra-Club Events ever, and more relationships between the club's Milwaukee and Madison sites. The players in these age groups showed incredible development last year, with unmatched quality of play in their spring competitions, raising the expectations even higher for 2016.
The Youth Academy for players from U8-U10 tripled in size in only its second year, with full rosters at each age group and more excitement than ever. The youngest players in the club have never had more role models to look up to and a better culture to become a part of.
Program 5 of FC Wisconsin will truly be a ground-breaking year. Each year of the club provides a totally new and unique opportunity for the ASPIRINGplayers of FC Wisconsin at all age groups to make the club better, grow together, and have a wonderful experience.
We are excited to begin building the legacy of Program 5!
